description

The Liskeard Cattle Market Phase 1 proposal covers an area of 5,380m2 (0.538 ha) and is partially funded by European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme. The development is located at Liskeard Cattle Market, Fairpark Rd, Liskeard, PL14 4BA and sits within a conservation area.

The proposal for Phase 1 includes the demolition of all Cattle Market sheds and associated structures on the site, together with the removal of all cattle barriers and other non building elements. The proposal also includes the demolition of the sheds on the north-west of Phase 1, which are deemed not fit for use, and the development of a new two-storey BREEAM excellent workshed, predominantly targeted at micro and small businesses within the creative industries. The development also include the construction of cycle storage, carparking, and an industrial-looking steel canopy with communal utility point to serve market vendors.

The scheme is currently with Cornwall Council Planners for determination under application reference PA20/02028, and it is envisaged that planning will be obtained on 14th September 2020, prior to formal appointment.
