NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority in the NHS and is responsible for the provision of blood components and a range of associated laboratory and patient therapeutic services to hospitals in England and North Wales.

The Therapeutic Apheresis Services (TAS) function operates within the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services Directorate. The TAS team of medical and nursing staff operate from 8 units across England – Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, London and Manchester. Each unit provides a portfolio of therapeutic treatments to patients from a range of clinical specialities. Treatments provided using multi-functional apheresis technology include: collection procedures: peripheral blood stem cell collection & granulocyte collection, Exchange procedures: plasma exchange and red cell exchange, Depletion procedures: white cell depletion, platelet depletion and bone marrow processing. The requirement for this procurement is for the supply and support of multi-functional apheresis equipment, consumables and machine technology.

Lots

This Framework Agreement is divided into lots:

Lot 1 – support of existing multi-functional apheresis equipment, consumables and machine technology Lot 2 – supply and support of new multi-functional apheresis equipment, consumables and machine technology

This Framework Agreement is for a period of 4 years. It is the intention of NHSBT to award a Framework Agreement for this requirements by February 2017.

The award of this contract will be to the Most Economically Advantageous Tender on the basis of the criteria set out in the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document on BRAVO (https://nhsbt.bravosolution.co.uk).
