Worcestershire County Council have funding for the first phase of the regeneration of the Shrub Hill Industrial Estate which comprises the demolition of Unit 16, remediation of the site and canal wall repair works along part of the Worcester Birmingham canal that falls within the sites demise. This tender is in relation to the canal wall repair works. The scope and specifics of the project are included within the Tender Documentation.

The Site and Unit 16 is located on the Shrub Hill Industrial Estate and what is referred to as the Isaacs Maddox triangle. Business's will remain operational during the canal wall repair works and the contractor will be responsible for minimising disturbance, noise and nuisance to all neighbours. The contractor will be required demonstrate a commitment and robust methodology in ensuring neighbouring businesses are not impacted by the works.

The demolition of Unit 16 has been tendered and awarded to DSM Demolition Ltd, the scope of the demolition works is included within the Tender Documentation. Unit 16 is currently occupied by M I F Distributions Ltd. The date for Vacant Possession has not yet been agreed and this could impact the proposed commencement date for the demolition works. The canal wall repair works is therefore being tendered to take place ahead of the demolition works. Please note the contractor has been requested to include costs for vegetation removal to the Unit 16 building wall and the canal wall that were previously included within the demolition scope due to the change in sequence of the works.

In the event that the commencement date exceeds the tender validity date then there shall be added to the Tender/Contract Sum the aggregate increase (if any) and deducted from the Contract Sum the aggregate decrease (if any) arising from any changes between the tender return date and the commencement date. The basis of measurement will be BCIS Tender Price Indices.

The tendering contractors to note sensitivity is required in carrying out site visits to inform tender responses due to the site still being operational. Site visits are to be requested via the Intend procurement portal.
