Job Title: Markets Assistant
Pay rate: ?10.83-?12.69
Contract type: Agency
Hours: 37 hours per week including Saturdays worked over 5 days. Shift working, and Sunday and public holiday working may be required.
Location: Based in West Bromwich but working throughout the borough
IR35: This role falls inside of IR35 Legislation
Job Summary:
- oTo assist the Markets Manager in the day to day activities of the Markets Service.
- oThe allocation of stalls, cash collection and accounting.
- oLiaison with market traders, customers and the public.
- oThe daily management and enforcement of market regulations throughout the Borough.
- oWorking in an office and outdoors on street markets.
Essential requirements:
- oMust have good customer service skills,
- oMust have good cash handling and basic accounting skills.
- oMust be willing to spend a major part of the working day outdoors and in a wide variety of weather conditions. Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- oMust be willing and able to provide car/van to transport self and others to sites throughout the borough. Must be able to provide class 1 business use for approved vehicle.
- oMust be dependable, able to work under pressure and on own initiative, and must be assertive and able to enforce regulations fairly and consistently.
