description

The Isle of Wight Council invited quotes from suitably qualified providers for the provision of a technological feasibility study of the future provision of IWFRS call handling, mobilisation, data and knowledge management. The contract will run from 18 January 2016 for a period of 3 months with the option to extend for a further period of up to 1 month at the sole discretion of the Council. The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (IWFRS) entered into a contract with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to carry out call handling and mobilising of their resources on March 1st 2012 which was formalised under a Memorandum of Understanding and Section 16 of the Fire Services Act 2004. The contract is due to expire on March 31st 2017. IWFRS has entered into a Strategic Partnership with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS). As part of the review of the current contract with SFRS, IWFRS wishes to employ a technological feasibility study to explore and inform decision making as to the most advantageous option for future provision.
