River Wye at Bakewell: Riverbank Revetment Works

Bakewell Town Council River Wye, Bakewell Riverbank revetment works

Tenders are invited for the following work which comprises three sections:

Section A

Downstream of Bakewell Bridge*

Approximately 85 metres

To restore the original riverbank line, backfill with externally sourced material appropriate to this sensitive location

Section B

Upstream of Bakewell Bridge*

Approximately 80 metres

Work to protect the toe of the bank to prevent further undercutting and reduce bank poaching pressure from people, cattle and dogs by increasing the vegetation, structure and diversity of the riverbank.

Section 3

Upstream of Section B

Approximately 40 metres

Work to address erosion caused by failed weir including investigation, assessment and resolution of undercuts in the riverbank.
