Medway Public Health would like to invite you to an event to discuss a system wide approach to substance misuse in Medway. Speakers will be from Public Health, Housing, Service Providers, Community and Voluntary Groups and will cover areas such as: • Trends and issues - a national and local perspective • Drug related deaths - an audit and lessons learned • Online support - a review of resources available • Rough sleepers, homelessness, and substance misuse - Severe and multiple disadvantage • Co-occurring conditions of mental health and substance misuse - pathways and progress • Chemsex - a case study • Substances and parenthood - Safeguarding children and supporting families • Naloxone and other peer mentor schemes - Learning from those who understand • Addiction to prescription medicines - legitimate and diverted • Substance misuse and wider health • Commissioning intentions for Medway The event will be followed up by a series of 2-hour workshops, dates to be set, to help us better understand the views and opinions of people and organisations with an interest in Medway services. These workshops are intended to be consultation and market engagement events, the learning from which will directly feed into future service specification design. Draft workshop titles: • Supporting the most vulnerable and excluded • Understanding barriers to accessing treatment services • In recovery - a life after substances • Online and self-managed care • Substance Misuse and Mental health - ensuring effective partnerships
