Rate of Pay: ?14.17 per hour (PAYE)

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Location: Working from Home/Sandwell Council House, Oldbury

Start Date: ASAP

Brief description:

The Income Management Service is responsible for managing, monitoring and recovering arrears of rent and other housing related charges from current and former tenants. A key objective is to combine the effective recovery of arrears with tenancy sustainment through the provision of quality advice, assistance and support to those in need. You will be a key player in ensuring prompt and effective early action is taken to control and recover outstanding arrears for current tenants up to eviction.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • oLiteracy level 2 or equivalent
  • oExcellent negotiation and communication skills
  • oExcellent customer service skills
  • oExcellent negotiation and persuasive skills
  • oAbility to take a proactive casework approach to recovering debt
  • oA performance driven work ethos
  • oA desire to help customers to sustain their tenancies
  • oHighly organised and understand the importance of attention to detail
  • oA good working knowledge of arrears management procedures and processes
  • oAbility to use own initiative when supporting vulnerable customers and dealing with complex arrears cases
  • oA good working knowledge of Universal Credit

If you have the drive to deliver a quality, customer focused service we would like to hear from you. The position is 37 hours per week and you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment, this will include working from home, and council offices.

This role is inside of IR35 and also does not require a DBS
