Wigan Council wish to engage a main contractor to deliver enabling works at the former Wigan Civic Centre, a 1960s four-storey brutalist concrete building.
broadly the enabling works comprise:
⬢ Removal of all asbestos from the building
⬢ Full internal strip out
⬢ Removal of external paint and apparatus
⬢ Internal paint removal to concrete soffit, columns and walls
⬢ Creation of structural openings for feature reception and access to roof
⬢ Concrete repairs
⬢ Installation of temporary fire detection system and emergency lighting
