Market engagement notice: Nottinghamshire healthy child programme and public health nursing service for 0-19 year olds.

Overview

The transfer of commissioning responsibility for public health nursing services for 0-5 year olds from NHS England in October 2015 brings together commissioning responsibility for all public health nursing services for 0-19 year olds within Nottinghamshire County Council and offers exciting opportunities for integration.

Nottinghamshire County Council will work with children, young people and families, clinicians, and stakeholders to transform delivery of the healthy child programme and public health nursing for 0-19 year olds maximising opportunities for integration and joint working.

We will procure an integrated healthy child programme and public health nursing service for 0-19 year olds during 2016 with a new service operational from 1st April 2017.

Scope

The integrated healthy child programme and public health nursing service for 0-19 year olds is currently delivered by the following services which are contracted to 31st March 2017:

?Health visiting service
?Family nurse partnership
?Public health school nursing service (including national child measurement programme)

The new integrated service will deliver services for residents of Nottinghamshire in line with the healthy child programme including:

?0-5 services
?2 ? 2.5 year review
?5- 19 services

Market participation

Nottinghamshire County Council is notifying the market of a series of market participation events aimed at shaping service development as follows:

?Friday 4th December 2015 (afternoon)
?Wednesday 20th January 2016 (morning)
?Monday 15th February 2016 (morning)

As part of the market participation we will also be inviting 1:1 meetings with potential bidders as follows:

?Thursday 10th December 2015 (afternoon)
?Wednesday 20th January 2016 (afternoon)

The 1:1 meetings are aimed at supporting interested parties to share ideas and information about local priorities, opportunities and service development, and to ask further questions.

Please hold these dates in diaries and further details will follow.

Service development will be informed by the market participation events, and by engagement with children, young people, parents and carers, as well as key stakeholders and partners in the delivery of services. Further opportunities for integration may be identified via these processes.

Clinicians, operational managers and strategic leads are encouraged to participate in order to shape the model for the service.
