HSE is seeking to award an initial 3 year contract with the option of an extension up to a further 2 years, in yearly increments.
The main services required from the contractor are:
| i. | To set up a scheme to capture a representative sample of cases of pesticide and biocide exposures in the UK which result in the involvement of a medical professional (e.g. paramedic, GP or attendance at accident and emergency department). In particular the scheme should have the capacity to identify cases which are severe or lead to death. |
| ii. | To obtain basic information on the patients in the cases such as approximate age, gender, pregnancy status. |
| iii. | To identify information on the incident: including the pesticide or biocide active substance(s) involved; whether the product was for professional use only or for home and garden use; and if possible the circumstances of the incident. |
