description
Brief Description of the Works
To support the work undertaken at CEH Wallingford and to help the organisation achieve its environmental targets this contract is for the complete design, supply, installation and commissioning of a photovoltaic array system in accordance with the following information.
The system should be designed to maximise energy generation from the available roof area for a 50kWp system. Estimated energy production should be clearly stated in your tender return along with estimated electricity savings, and YOY analysis with payback analysis should be based upon a unit cost rate for Year 1 of £0.106/kWh and 100% onsite use of energy generation. Savings shall be calculated using MCS generation guidelines. Due to the annual electricity consumption of the building being 641,915 kWh during accounting period 2015/16 we will not anticipate to export electricity back to the grid. SAP modelling must not to be used in any calculations.
The potential available locations on the building covers circa. 1,000m2 of available roof space which is subject to survey and shading analysis for the proposed installation. The majority of areas identified for PV panels are on the single storey roof areas of the building.
The building and areas around the works will remain fully operational during the works, so the installation will need to be carefully managed to ensure access is maintained to all operational areas and disruption to staff, scientific research and other building services on site are kept to a minimum. Specific access points affected by the works will be controlled for the duration of the construction programme. Installation works to be undertaken Mon - Fri (07.30-17.00 hrs) unless by prior consent.
For information there is deemed no requirement to obtain planning or building regulation consent as installation is classified permitted development and has been verified by the local authority. In addition as there is already an installation on the building we will not be obtaining additional FiT’s. The building has an existing EPC rating of C (expires 2024).
The attached documentation identifies the scope and schedule that the tenderer must take into account when tendering and carrying out the work.
Bidders are encouraged to attend a site visit. To book please submit a suggested date, time and names of those that wish to attend through the message function of the Esourcing Portal.
