Livestock Price Data Collection

The Authority is looking to appoint a contractor to provide livestock sales data to APHA (and this shall include all its Executive Agencies) as well as the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government. The livestock sales data is to provide an average market sales price for livestock (cattle, sheep and pigs), which fall into specific categories.

The livestock sales data will be provided from the 1 November 2016 and will be used, amongst other things to support a cattle compensation system, based primarily on table valuations, which APHA introduced on 1 February 2006. To ensure compensation payments reflect actual livestock value, APHA requires data to be collected from as many sources as possible
