The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham is seeking tenders from suitably experienced and qualified organisations for the provision of Short Break Activities for disabled children and young people.

The new framework contract is expected to run for a period of four (4) years commencing in November 2016. The contracts will be awarded to multiple providers.

The framework will comprise 4 lots as follows:

  1. School Holiday Provision; After School Provision; Saturday and Sunday Provision;
  2. Buddying and Befriending;
  3. Transition Support and Independence Skills; and
  4. Programme for children and young people with autism.

Tenderers can tender for individual lots or all lots however this information must be made clear within the tender submission.

This tender will culminate in the creation of a list of suitably qualified and experienced providers for the provision of these services. All providers on the Framework will also be accessible to eligible families opting to receive a Direct Payment.

Successful Tenderers will be awarded a Framework Agreement, (awarded to all organisations determined as able to deliver the Service) and may be expected to provide suitable Workers and Premises to facilitate the services in accordance with children and young people’s needs. Please note that by being awarded the Framework Agreement there is no guarantee of work.

A range of daytime Services for disabled children and young people will be required either in premises, or out and about, and shall be delivered during daytimes, to include: weekends (this may include bank holidays); evenings; and, school holidays.

A Briefing Day for prospective Tenderers will be held on Friday 9th September 2016 at 9.30am at the Heathway centre to advise on this opportunity and the tendering process.

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham reserves the right to award any Contract to a single Service Provider, a range of Service Providers, or to not award the Contract at all.

Interested parties will be sent a tender application pack that will include full details of the service and the tendering process. Tender submissions must be completed and returned by no later than 10am, Friday 14th October 2016

The tender application pack is only available electronically but responses are required in hard copy and electronic format (excluding email) together with all relevant accompanying documentation. Please note any USB sent to the Council may be encrypted by the Council to protect against viruses.

The closing date for request of a tender application pack is 12 noon, Monday 10th October 2016
