GB-Leeds: Z/3128 Sentinel Towers - Recladding Works

Sentinel Towers - External Mansard Recladding Works To Blocks A and B:-

The works are to be undertaken in accordance with the specification document at The University of Leeds accommodation tower block at Sentinel Towers (Block A and B), Burley Street, Leeds, LS3 1LD.

The existing cladding system (including but not limited to aluminium panels, framework, fixings, insulation, membranes) to the top level of Block A and Block B is to be replaced in its entirety with a non-combustible cladding panel and system as detailed further within the schedule of works.

The aesthetics of the existing system is to be replicated and the contractor is to allow for ensuring the size and set out of the new cladding sections replicate the existing. The colour is to be matched to the existing cladding and the contractor should allow for taking a sample of the cladding to enable the colour match to be made.

The existing cill is to be removed to allow further inspection to establish if a cavity closer is present and in acceptable condition or whether new is required to be installed with a new aluminium cill (profile, size and appearance to match existing) be installed.

As part of the works and while access is available the costs for the redecoration of the detail metal work to the building along with the high level link bridge is to be included.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
