Brief description:

At Sandwell Council we are progressive, dynamic, and dedicated to meeting the needs of our community. We now wish to recruit a Solicitor/Lawyer - Employment in our Civil and Business team who shares our vision.

We are looking for candidates with experience of providing advice and assistance in relation to employment cases, including conducting employment tribunal case management discussions, directions hearings, preparing settlement agreement and experience of advocacy.

Candidates will provide advice to officers and Members and attend relevant meetings/panels/committees

Qualification: Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive. Must possess current practising certificate which is free of conditions.

The successful candidate will have 3 years' practical experience working within a legal team or equivalent environment of which they must have 2 years' experience of employment law. Ability to undertake workload with minimal supervision is required.

The successful candidate will gain considerable exposure to a varied workload with a high level of responsibility and extensive client contact.
