COV - E-Books and E-Audiobooks

Coventry City Council is tendering for the provision of both E-Books and E-audiobooks with a projected yearly spend of £25,000. These values are given for guidance purposes only and do not form a contractual commitment. No guarantees will be made regarding the volume or value of business to be procured throughout the life of this contract.

Coventry Libraries and Information Services are committed to providing a vibrant digital service that allows users to access key services 24/7. The existing digital offer includes access to e-books and e-audiobooks (both from three suppliers), e-magazines and e-newspapers and a collection of online information resources.

The use of e-books and e-audiobooks has grown steadily and in 2015-2016 users downloaded circa 6,000 e-books and 1,300 e-audiobooks. At present Coventry Libraries and Information Services offer circa 5,000 E-Book titles and 2,000 E-Audiobook titles.

While reading, learning and information are at the heart of the library service. Our offer will focus increasingly on the virtual world of E-Books, e-audiobooks and information to compliment the face to face channel. Our aim is to offer a 24/7, remote access to our services and to promote these services to more of our customers, who have a diverse range of ages, backgrounds and digital abilities.
