description
This Tender is for the provision of Consultancy Services for a client- side advisor, with scope of services as defined in Schedule 2- Specification, for a new Public Sector Hub office development. The development, which will comprise new build alongside internal alterations to the existing County Hall building, will be located at County Hall, Busher Walk, Kendal. The project is to be delivered for Cumbria County Council (the Authority) as client consulting with the following respective partners (the ‘Potential Partners’): • South Lakeland District Council • Lake District National Park Following a strategic review under the “Better Places for Work” (BP4W) programme; Cumbria County Council wishes to explore the opportunity to redevelop the existing Cumbria County Council Offices and vacant land to the rear of County Hall, Busher Walk, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 4RQ. In the County Council Plan 2014 -17, the Council has made a clear commitment to being a modern and efficient organisation that delivers the best possible services for the people of Cumbria within its available resources, protects the vulnerable, and works with others in the community to shape services and help find solutions for the future. The Council Plan states that; To achieve this we will change the way we operate as a council and become more business-like, by: • Use ICT and modern technology to improve our services. • Simplify our policies, systems and processes. • Simplify our staffing structures having lean management layers empowering our staff to make decisions. • Communicate in a clear and consistent way. • Work agilely across the county from modern fit-for-purpose buildings. To be a modern and efficient council we will: • Reshape the organisation by reviewing management structures and reducing management costs. • Make our internal support services much more efficient. • Commission and procure services in more efficient way, reducing duplication, improving services and meeting the wider aims of the council. • Rationalise our property and improve office accommodation. • Change the culture of the organisation and support our members and employees as we go through change. • Pursue opportunities for more efficient service delivery by closer working with the other tiers of local government.
