Grade: Grade E
Hours - 37 Hours
Pay rate: ?15.84/h
Location : Oldbury Council
Work Schedule - Hybrid - 2 days a week in the office Team - School Appeals Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the School Appeals Team for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for a fixed term period from March to July.
School admission appeals are heard by Independent Appeal Panels throughout the year, with the busiest period running from March to July.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess effective prioritisation, communication, organisational and time management skills as well as the ability to work on your own initiative. You must be a team player with a flexible approach, willing to provide a comprehensive support service, dealing with high volumes of work and used to working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
The post holder will make all the necessary administrative arrangements for appeal hearings, in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code 2022, and the School Admissions Code 2021, this includes:-
- oproviding impartial advice on the appeals process and admissions law
- osending all the relevant papers required for the hearing to all parties
- oproviding parents with written notification of the arrangements for their appeal hearing
- oresponding to enquiries from parents and schools
- osending written notification of the panel's decision
You will ideally have previous experience in school admission appeals or similar hearings, or a background in committee work.

You will receive further information regarding invoice terms if your candidate is appointed to this role.
