Defra is awarding a Framework agreement for the provision of Research, Development & Evidence Services.
Research and Experimental Development (R&D) comprises creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications.
Evidence covers a range of sciences including economics, social research, operational research, statistics, natural science, engineering and geography.
The framework is divided into 4 lots, which are additionally divided into sub lots:
Lot 1 Food
sub lot 1.1 - Supporting a resilient and secure food system sub lot 1.2 - Enabling a productive and competitive agri-food chain sub lot 1.3 - Safety and Confidence in food
sub lot 1.4 - Supporting a sustainable and healthy agri-food chain
lot 2 Farming
sub lot 2.1 - Crop performance and protection services
sub lot 2.2 - Livestock performance services
sub lot 2.3 - Agronomy, nutrient management and sustainable system services sub lot 2.4 - Modelling toolkits, informatics and comparative life cycle assessment services sub lot 2.5 - Farming statistics
