description

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for UCL students are not currently carried out in a streamlined way. We currently submit around 2,300 applicant/student checks per year to the DBS. This is a process that affects a great number of students and staff. Therefore, it is of great importance to the institution that we gain oversight of these checks and that they pass through a robust process.

UCL currently does not have an all-encompassing contract with a single umbrella body, but itself acts as a Registered Body for some student checks. The School of Pharmacy and the Institute of Education have their own accounts with the umbrella body Atlantic Data.

UCL is looking to appoint a DBS checking provider that will provide a streamlined service that will cover all UCL students.
