description
Smart Emerging Technologies Institute (SETI)
A key part of SETI will be to design, test and validate new algorithms, methods and tools to cope with novel sensor designs and vast amounts of real-time data and to design new protocols for edge-computing and network management that provide for more efficient and secure networks that operate over fixed and wireless infrastructure. As well as creating a unique and potentially the fastest research and innovation testbed in Europe, SETI will also undertake to work with other agencies of government and industry to highlight where interventions are required to provide the availability of adequate digital communications infrastructure in the East of England region (in particular Norfolk and Suffolk). SETI is intended to work collaboratively to generate knowledge of societal and commercial benefit. Its development addresses a number of key opportunities identified in both the government Industrial Strategy: (Industrial Strategy White Paper attached) and the East of England- Science and Innovation Audit: (EoE SIA Summary attached)
