description
National Museums Liverpool (NML) is seeking to appoint a Construction Multi-Disciplinary Professional Services Team, who can provide External Project Manager services, Quantity Surveyor services, BIM Manager services and CDM Advisor services to transform the International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum.
The appointed Professional Services Team will be required to work with NML's internal Project delivery team, external Architectural Design Team, external Exhibition Design Team and NML's external stakeholders and community groups to develop and deliver the project through RIBA Stages 2 - 7. Liaison with consultant teams working on the wider Waterfront project will also be required as the project progresses.
Our ambition is to create a new venue of the Martin Luther King Jr and Hartley Pavilion buildings and the two museums they house, that allows both to flourish and achieve NML's vision for them. This transformation will be led by our communities in a co-production approach that will define how we develop our vision. We will do this through refurbishing and developing the MLK as a dedicated space for the International Slavery Museum and its communities with a link-bridge into re-interpreted galleries within the Hartley Pavilion. Alongside this, we will re-interpret the Maritime Museum, which is also housed in the Hartley Pavilion and ensure it achieves its vision as one of the key museums in NML, and create a new, open and more accessible venue for commercial purposes.
NML is looking for a Professional Services Team that can demonstrate the following:
- Experience supporting Client Team with the management, development, and delivery of large and complex cultural, conservation and heritage projects.
- Experience of managing and delivering capital projects, similar in style to NML's museum project which include Base Build and Exhibition Fit Out works
- Experience of similar style projects, such as those that have been funded by Cultural, Heritage or Public Sector funding bodies such as National Lottery Heritage Fund.
- Experience and the abilities to understand and manage both the capital refurbishment of the two buildings and separately, the exhibition design and development of the two museums.
- Ability to carry out the services required and have relevant experience of a working on projects of similar size, scope, nature, and complexity to the ISM/MM Transformation project.
Further information is provided in the Scope of Services (Documents 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3 and 1.3.4); Project Brief (Document 1.2) and accompanying procurement documents.
