description

The Met Office has identified a potential requirement for the provision of polar orbiting satellite data reception infrastructure. A recent review of our polar systems has highlighted that some of our existing reception infrastructure is now approaching end-of-life. This has led us to start considering our requirements for the future of polar reception at Exeter and how we might meet them. We are therefore currently investigating potential upgrade and/or replacement paths for our polar reception infrastructure. In light of this, the Met Office are currently seeking informal expressions of interest and some insight from the market as to the current capabilities on offer, in order to help inform us of what the most optimal solutions might be to meet our future requirements. Further information can be obtained by contacting adam.rossiter@metoffice.gov.uk. PLEASE NOTE - this notice is an information gathering exercise rather than a call for competition, and therefore publication or response does not commit the Met Office or any respondents to a future procurement, nor provide any process exemptions or preferential treatment to any parties expressing an interest. The Met Office will not be liable for costs incurred by any interested party in participating in this exercise.
