description

The appointed Civil Service learning provider will procure and interpret the 66 Margerison McCann reports. As such they must be appropriately accredited to use these management tools.

After the reports have been commissioned we expect them to conduct a one day facilitated workshop with each of the three Divisions.

The first half of the day will focus on explaining the results to the staff and highlighting any current issues of balance or imbalance in their particular team.

The second half of the day will focus on interactive group exercises, which use the information revealed in the reports to help identify how we can:

optimise work allocations; and
build the most balanced teams possible.

We expect the facilitator to propose the format and content of these exercises to DfT ahead of formally procuring their services.

Finally, we would like the facilitator to sign post those present at the workshop to resources that they can use to further plan their development. However, we would not expect this to take up much time in the second half of the day as we would want the focus to be on improved team effectiveness.

The first facilitation session (for one team) will ideally take place on 14 April 2015 as this date is in 20 peoples’ diary already. However 21 April would be a back-up date to work with around 70-80% of this team available then. It is envisaged that the reports for the first facilitation session should be purchased and paid for in March 2015 if possible to allow completion time. The other two teams will want to complete their reports in April ahead of separate facilitation sessions.

As each Division has sub-teams and different challenges we want the successful contractor to talk to each Division separately ahead of the facilitation and to be able to tailor the workshops slightly to meet differing requirements.
