The purpose of this brief is to seek the services of an experienced Peatland Surveyor and Restoration Plan writer. The surveyor will:

  1. undertake an assessment of two sites on Cow Ridge to understand the extent of the current peat resource and condition (more information on the sites is below)
  2. report on the impact these areas may be having on water quality and carbon loss in the Rye catchment
  3. identify works as appropriate in an illustrated, written plan that will enable future funding to be sought and to steer a specification for those conservation works. Further information is on in Section 3 "contract specification".
