description

Commissioners are seeking interest from suitably qualified potential provider(s) to assist with capacity and support for the current outpatient neurology service in South Devon and Torbay. The service is targeted on the over 18 population who are registered with a GP in the SD&T CCG area. We are particularly interested in community and nurse led models of care supported by early consultant diagnosis.

The capacity issues relate to general neurological conditions including epilepsy, headache and migraine. The service would provide:

  • rapid and accurate diagnosis
  • information and advice from diagnosis onward
  • support to self manage where relevant
  • provision of a care plan
  • appropriate follow up
  • availability as close as practicable to a patients home

Potential providers are asked to contact Gill Munday gill.munday@nhs.net or Emma Herd emma.herd1@nhs.net within the period from 05/08/16 to 19/08/16 to discuss the opportunities and explore possibilities to help the CCG to meet its urgent and pressing need.

Contact outside of this period may not beconsidered due to the urgent need to resolve capacity issues to meet the needs of patients.

Any resulting contract is envisaged to be to bridge the gap to assist the current capacity issues. We envisage this to be to the order of 12 months with an optional 12 month extension period.

We have difficulty stating the exact value of the contract but can share with those providers who engage with us details around the activity shortfall that presents us with an urgent and pressing need. To help potential providers understand if they can assist we have supplied the best estimated (potential) annual value that we are able to calculate at this point.
