description

The overseas portfolio of work at Cefas has expanded rapidly over the last few years and will continue to grow as Cefas support countries across the globe to effectively manage their marine environments.

This work includes providing countries with a variety of marine and scientific equipment, and the movement of marine samples and biological materials. These items are shipped, and/or imported, from the UK, and other international locations, to the countries in question. Many of these countries are remote island nations where straightforward freight is not an option and where their in-country infrastructure is very limited.

Cefas does not have the capacity or expertise to manage the complex shipping, import and export customs processes, and problem solving that are increasingly needed and is seeking a suitable supplier to conduct these requirements.

Requirement

To provide an end-to-end service including:

1.Advice on packaging and labelling, and/or provision of packaging and labelling services on-site at Cefas (Lowestoft and Weymouth)
2.Advice and support with the completion of all required shipping, import/export, and customs paperwork
3.Shipping of the necessary items from collection through to final delivery to end recipient, both to and from the UK and required overseas countries
4.Support through all customs processes, ensuring all shipments are processed correctly and efficiently
5.Advice and flexibility regarding payment of import taxes, such as one-off payments, use of client/agent duty deferment account, postponed VAT accounting
