The purpose of this brief is to seek the services of an experienced Heritage Consultant / Archaeologist who will:
- direct the walkover surveys of the two sites, with the help of volunteers / community involvement (small groups in line with COVID guidelines and risk assessments) (more information on the two sites is below)
- report on / record any finds
- advise on any areas to avoid peatland restoration work, or to avoid in accessing the peatland sites
- advise on if any further work is needed (and if so what) before any peatland restoration should take place. Further information is on in Section 3 "contract specification".
