description
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) would like to explore and develop their understanding of the concepts and principles of Positive Action in the workplace.
We are seeking a sector specialist to deliver training workshops who would, ideally, have knowledge of Fire and Rescue Services to ensure any offering is cohesive with our service deliverables and structure.
We are working to a strict timeframe with a target delivery date for phase one starting November 2023. It is key that the delivery of workshops are structured and scheduled for delivery in accordance with shift working patterns across all departments of GFRS. We are aiming to hold 8 days with 16 workshop sessions (exact schedule TBC)
The Positive Action training will enable GFRS to achieve their aim of employing a workforce that is representative of the communities that we serve, it is important to recognise that we will need to encourage applications for vacancies within Gloucestershire fire and rescue services from under-represented groups. By using positive action initiatives and by providing a range of support mechanisms early in the firefighter recruitment process, we can support applicants and increase their chances of successful placement with GFRS.
We are looking to develop a co-facilitation model which delivers face to face workshops within a committed timeframe to build the capacity of understanding of positive action across the service. Starting from the top down with The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with Whole-Time Stations Leadership and Staff along with the flexibility to expand and include Fire Control and non-operational support roles.
