description

Derbyshire County Council is currently seeking a service provider for the Provision of an Integration and Support Service for the Syrian Vulnerable Person Resettlement Scheme for Derbyshire, excluding Derby City. This contract will be initially for one year with a possible extension up to 4 years, subject to Central Government requirements and budget approval.

We are therefore looking to procure the services of a support provider who will be responsible for the orientation and support of the vulnerable refugees resettled in Derbyshire through the Syrian Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Scheme. It does not include the sourcing and provision of accommodation. The service specification covers all adults, children and young people accepted by Derbyshire County Council under the VPR Programme only. It, therefore, does not relate to asylum seeker adults and unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC). These groups are covered by other arrangements.

The support provider will be contracted for an initial 1 year period with options to extend up to 4 years, on a year by year basis. This extension will be subject to the funding available. The service will be funded by Government payments to the council on the basis of reducing annual payments in respect of individual refugees. It is anticipated that refugees will initially require very intensive support and that their needs will gradually taper off during the remainder of the first year and reduce still further over the course of the second and subsequent years. The support provider is expected to organise its staffing and resources to reflect this likely pattern of need, whilst retaining some flexibility.
