description

The government announced the Business Basics Programme in its Industrial Strategy. The programme will test innovative ways of encouraging micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to adopt existing technologies and business practices that can boost their productivity. In doing so the programme aims to add to the evidence base of what works in driving up SME productivity.

The funding will be used to develop and trial ideas for increasing the adoption of productivity-boosting technology and business practices among SMEs - or moving businesses closer to that adoption. It will also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of these ideas in the short, medium and long term.

Worcestershire County Council is seeking partners in order to bid for a trial programme. The Council wishes to run a trial based on an adaptation of a proven and successful model of delivery which offers 121 business support.

The Council is seeking:

  • oBusiness Coaches who specialise in Leadership and Management and unleashing 'People Power'.
  • oBusiness Advisers who have specialities in Tech and Productivity - who can go in and advise various businesses about what works best for their business.
