Agri-environment schemes (AES) are a key component in improving connectivity across the landscape and further investigation is required to establish the extent to which the location of AES options improves ecological connectivity.

Specific project objectives:

  1. Review approaches to measuring ecological connectivity, specifically considering agri-environment schemes.
  2. Assess the contribution of AES implementation to landscape ecological connectivity.
  3. Provide recommendations for ground truthing and future targeting of findings.
