Kingsway Concrete Repair and Painting Works

These works have been broken down into 4 different work packages, they include: - Package 1- Kingsway Box Sewer Works

• Undertake localised concrete repairs to the covered approaches (where necessary).
• Mortar repair to brickwork
• Removal of vegetation growth from the structure.
• Cleaning and repainting of the protective paint coating to the surface of the Gatic cover beams.

Package 2- Covered Approaches - Repairs

• Undertake localised concrete repairs to the covered approaches (where necessary).
• Remove of vegetation growth from the structure.
• The raking out and replacement of the expansion joint sealant.
• The further investigation of the water ingress at vent shaft VS11 in the Liverpool Covered Approach.
• Remove all temporary access systems and support structures and make good the existing structure.

Package 3- Covered Approaches- Painting

• Undertake localised cleaning of all concrete members via hand scraping and
• pressure washing to remove existing anti-carbonation coating.
• Painting of new anti-carbonation coating to covered approaches.

Package 4- Retaining Walls and Overbridges

• Extension of outfall pipes.
• Replace missing bolt to infill mesh.
• Replacement of a failed manhole.
• Make safe exposed electrical cables.
• Re-bed dislodged copings.
