description

The London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) and Havering (LBH) are jointly procuring their HIV Prevention and Support Services for Adults.

Both councils through the service aim to prevent further transmission of HIV and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with HIV by addressing key needs and issues around social isolation and poor mental health and wellbeing. The service will focus on early diagnosis and at-risk groups e.g. MSM and Black African groups that are overrepresented in infections relative to the rest of the population.

For people living with HIV self-management skills and knowledge are key to enhancing health and wellbeing. Poor treatment literacy (adherence), poor engagement in care, poor mental wellbeing, poverty, poor housing and immigration issues - all of which are exacerbated by HIV related stigma, are issues often faced by people living with HIV. This service will be commissioned to reduce and prevent the impact of these issues for people living with HIV in both boroughs.

The Councils invite suitably experienced service providers to submit bids for the provision of the service. Deadline for submission of bids is 12noon on Friday 15th February 2019
