description

The System safety, security and interoperability (SSI) team embedded within Operations and infrastructure management directorate (OIMD) is responsible for the route wide system safety demonstration and safety, interoperability and security approvals of HS2 Ltd to its external stakeholders; the Office of rail and road (ORR) and Department for transport (DfT). The SSI team is tasked with providing assurance that the HS2 infrastructure (Including design and Rolling Stock) is built with safety in mind across Phase 1, Phase 2a and Phase 2b.

This provision will ensure that HS2 Ltd receives continuous support in the delivery of its system safety responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, providing HS2 Ltd with a route wide overview and technical expertise on safety in relation to railway infrastructure, safety risk assessments and guidance on system safety protocols.
