The London Borough of Newham (LBN) is inviting expressions of interest in the upcoming procurement of maintenance and repair of medical equipment. The equipment is held by the Council's (0-19) years Children's Health service.

Equipment within scope of this procurement is expected to include:

  • A variety of medical scales encompassing stock from a variety of manufacturers
  • Height measures
  • Apnoea monitors

The tender period is planned to start in January 2018 with the contract scheduled to start in March 2018. Bids will be evaluated on a 70% price, 30% quality weighting.

The contract will be for initial period of 2 years with a possibility to extend for 2 years subjected to grant availability and council discretion.

The Council intends to undertake market engagement with potential suppliers. Kindly refer to the market engagement questions below.

Market engagement questions:

  1. The Council intends to request providers to structure their pricing for the purposes of the Request for Quote in the following way:
  • a)All inclusive hourly rate for planned / preventative maintenance
  • b)All inclusive hourly rate for reactive maintenance (ie - repair)

NB: the cost of replacement parts associated with reactive maintenance would be quoted for and charged separately where required

  • a)Planned / preventative maintenance to be completed within 5 working days of the Council submitting a request
  • b)Reactive maintenance to be completed within 2 working days of the Council submitting a request

NB: this would be subject to replacement parts being available to the supplier organisation
