UK SBS PR17010 The Outside Manufacturing (O.M.) Framework - The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)

STFC will be holding a supplier engagement day in order to assess the market's appetite, concerns, and views on formulation of requirement.

The estimated value of the framework is 5,000,000.00

• 9,000,000.00 GBP.

We anticipate this being a 3 - year agreement.

The supplier engagement days will be held at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell Campus, Didcot, OX11 0QX, and Daresbury Laboratory, Keckwick Ln, Warrington, WA4 4AD w/c 15th May 2017. Please state location preference if you wish to attend. Once you have registered your interest we will confirm the actual day and time of the engagement day. STFC may consider information and responses received as part of the preliminary market consultation to help inform STFC's options and further decision making in relation to the planning and conduct of the proposed procurement.

For the avoidance of doubt, this notice is not a Call for Competition; a Contract Notice will be issued as a call for competition. Not registering an interest shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of preliminary market consultation shall place any supplier at an advantage in a potential procurement process. Participation in preliminary market consultation will be at each supplier's own cost.

It is anticipated that the framework will be effective from 01.11.2017.

Additional information: The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) procure a considerable number of mechanical engineering bespoke and low volume production items during a year.

In order to support this activity UKSBS, acting on behalf of STFC, anticipate establishing a multi-lot framework agreement divided by supplies covering the categories of manufacture out-lined below.

1. Small/Medium Milling -up to X 2m x Y 800mm x Z 750mm

2.Large/Extra Large Milling - X 2m x Y 800mm x 750mm - X 4 m x Y 1m x Z 1m

3. RAL SPACE Machining- Milling up to X 1 m x Y 1m x Z 750mm. Turning up to Ø 300 x Z 500mm with specific quality and traceability requirements
4. Small/Medium Turning - up to Ø 300 mm x Z 500mm
5. Large/Extra Large Turning -Over Ø 300mm x Z
500. mm
6. EDM - Wire Erosion
7. Small/Medium Fabrication -Up to 2m cube approx.
8. Large / Extra Large Fabrication - Over 2m cube approx.
9. Vacuum Fabrication -

Please note that the final number of lots might change.

On average STFC are placing about 3 purchase orders a day across all categories of suppliers.

The average value of purchase orders placed under this agreement is estimated to be below £3,000.00 + VAT
