description

The University of Southampton has received funding mostly from EPSRC for an upgrade to The Magnetic Resonance Research Facility.

The basis of the upgrade is as follows:

  • a)increase the capabilities and throughput of the facility in liquid-state NMR spectroscopy by installing a liquid-state NMR system operating at a proton Larmor frequency of at least 700 MHz.
  • b)replace legacy consoles on two 400 MHz NMR instruments with modern systems.
  • c)move one of the existing 400 MHz magnets together with the new console to a different location on the same floor in the same building.
