description

The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) are developing a Reference Reagent for anti-malaria (Plasmodium vivax) human serum. The source material for this Reference Reagent comprises serum from multiple (>30) P. vivax-infected donors. To ensure that the Refence Reagent is fit for purpose, and to inform decisions on the pooling of source material from different donors, we require the antibody reactivity profile of this source plasma to be characterised by quantitative suspension array technology (qSAT). Specifically, we require that total IgG, IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, IgM and IgE levels of up to 60 serum samples, to 20 Plasmodium antigens, be measured. NIBSC will supply the serum samples and recombinant Plasmodium antigens.
