UK-Japan Trade Translation

Under the UK-Japan CEPA, it has been agreed that the UK will provide a list of GIs for protection in Japan. The agreement text requires the UK to provide GI specification documents translated into Japanese alongside the list of GIs. The UK and Japan are due to exchange GI lists in mid-January. Department International Trade (DIT) have publicly confirmed this timeline so stakeholders (GI producers and devolved administrations (DAs)) are also aware of this commitment. Therefore 77 documents will need to be translated into Japanese by mid-late January.
