Inspiring Futures Through Learning (IFtL) - Primary School Catering Services

Inspiring Futures Through Learning (Multi Academy Trust) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified partner to supply catering services to three of its schools in Milton Keynes.

• oFairfields Primary School
• oWhitehouse Primary School
• oTwo Mile Ash Junior School

Two contracts will start in Nov 2020 with the remaining school commencing April 2021.

All three Schools have their own fully fitted preparation and cooking facilities although until the start of the agreement, the kitchens at Fairfields and Whitehouse have not been used as the previous numbers on roll at these schools have not been sufficient to sustain a service. Two Mile Ash has provided meals on an exported basis to both schools in addition to other schools in the area and these will be included within this process.

Tenderers will be able to meet with IFtL to discuss the approach to the requirements and to clarify any queries on the legal documentation. IFtL will share any issues raised at the meeting which are not commercially confidential with the other Tenderers.

This will be dependent on relaxation of the current meeting and travel restrictions due to the ongoing Covid -19 pandemic. An alternative video conference supported by a video tour of the facilities at each school, may be implemented. Details will be distributed to interested companies.

Delivery Notes

IFtL is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of its Catering Services to the schools identified.

This does not include any future requirements for its other schools which if required, will undergo separate tender procedures.

Two Mile Ash is a 680 pupil Junior School serving Years 3,4,5,6 (7 -11 years of age). The School currently has an operating kitchen serving meals to one other school by its in-house team and these staff will be eligible for TUPE transfer. The kitchen is well fitted although changes may need to be made to improve layout, workflow and the storage of dry goods.

• 2.Whitehouse Primary School
• oService start date; Monday 2nd November 2020

Whitehouse Primary School is a new build school where year groups are being added year on year for the academic year 2020/21. The kitchen is fully fitted and as yet unused, waiting for pupil numbers to increase to a level that would make the service viable. Meals are currently being supplied from Two Mile Ash Junior School.

• 3.Fairfields Primary School
• oService start date; Monday 12th April 2021

Fairfields Primary School, as with Whitehouse, has a fully fitted kitchen as yet unused and currently receives meals from Two Mile Ash. From September 2020 a local secondary school will be taking temporary residency in an area of the building and it has an incumbent caterer who will provide a temporary service until they relocate in April 2021.
