description
To facilitate the exchange of mutually releasable sensitive information between the UK and US, systems are in place to allow secure, controlled access to data. The US meets their element of this requirement through a system known as the US Secret Internet Protocol Router Releasable (SIPR REL). Elements of this system are obsolete and a technical refresh (TR) is necessary due to the age of much of the hardware in order to comply with a US requirement to move from Windows XP to Windows 7.
