description

We have a number of Trend 963 BMS software programs running on Windows XP operating systems, this is no longer supported by Microsoft, and puts The Institute in a vulnerable position should we have failures on machines where it is installed. In order for us to reduce the consequences of such failures all critical systems of which Trend is included, are being upgraded to Windows 7.

The Trend software must be reinstalled, and relicensed on changeover of the hardware, and results in a cost due to engineering time, and a relicensing fee charged by Trend.

The Trend BMS system is the way critical equipment and Plant alarms are monitored and actioned. It also records and stores environmental parameters for the most high priority areas and equipment.
