Ings Lane, Kirkbymoorside

The project site consists of three separate locations situated near the village of Kirkbymoorside, namely:

Location 1: Reducing the footprint of the central island of the roundabout on the A170 New Road / Ings Lane, involving removal/replacement of kerbs and demolishing and rebuilding the dwarf wall and surrounding path to create a tighter radius. Re-landscape the roundabout and widen the entrance of the junction into Ings Lane.

Location 2: Carry out road widening from the bend near Binsdale House to the entrance to Muirfield. This involves adjusting the existing kerb line, excavating and re-kerbing, some adjustments to the width of the footway. A gully will also need to be moved back to align it with the new kerb line and reconnection to the existing main.

Location 3: Overlay the existing road from the junction with Gawtersike Lane to the Perry Slingsby Systems factory, this will also include some isolated inlay patching 100mm thick. Provision of some new PCC kerbs and channels at the factory entrance.

The type of work in general, is designed to improve HGV access to the existing Factory on Ings Lane and repair and strengthen the existing road. This work will comprise of works on the roundabout, widening the existing bends to facilitate HGV movement, overlaying the road between the junction with Gawkersike Lane with isolated inlay patching and some kerbing work. As shown on the Contract Drawings.
