description

The Environment Agency uses a number of different types of weed cutting boats and harvesters for essential river maintenance. This maintenance includes managing floating weed, submerged plants, obstructions and other debris in our waterways, ditches and channels. The access and environmental issues requires maintenance to be undertaken using boats rather than construction type equipment.

There are a number of amphibious weed cutting boats and weed harvesters required. It is expected that these vessels will be the priority for replacement during the term of the Contract, although there may be other requirements as workload demands.
