description

ENGIE Services Ltd on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council wishes to commission a Conservation Management Plan for the three historic vessels forming part of its Museums Collection, located at the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre:

the Ross Tiger, the historic 1950s trawler which is the centrepiece of the GFHC, moored in Alexandra Dock
the historic fishing smack Esther, which sank in 2012 and lies adjacent to the Ross Tiger in Alexandra Dock
the Perseverance, a shrimper built in 1914 and which spent much of its operational life in the Humber; initially a floating exhibit, the Perseverance is now rested on makeshift blocks within the GFHC.

All three vessels form part of the National Register of Historic Vessels and the Esther is also part of the National Historic Fleet. Following recent survey work, the Authority now wishes to prepare Conservation Management Plans for the vessels to provide a framework within which future repair and maintenance works can be planned and managed
