Interim Head of Stakeholder Relationships

Ofwat requires an interim Head of Stakeholder Relationship for a period of six months to achieve quick and demonstrable progress. The role will be based in London with travel to Birmingham as required.

A number of factors combine to put Ofwat at the heart of a complex web of stakeholder interests and relationships which it needs to manage. Water is a vital and increasingly scarce resource of great interest and importance to customers, to Governments and politicians, to environmental and community groups, to companies Ofwat regulators, to their investors and analysts, and to new companies looking to enter the market. Regulation, the burden on business and the protection available to vulnerable customers are also of significant political and public policy interest.

At the same time public finances are under considerable pressure and scrutiny.

Also, Ofwat is looking to roll out a new approach to economic regulation which - to work - needs to understanding, support, engagement and participation of many of its stakeholders.

For all these reasons it is essential Ofwat manages this complex web of relationships in a coordinated, integrated and proactive way with clear goals and measures, to ensure it is in the best possible place to deliver its work.
