description
Healthy London Partnership
A pan-London transformation unit – Healthy London Partnership – was established on 1 May 2015 to undertake a range of collaborative transformation programmes on behalf of all of London’s Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England (London). The portfolio of 13 programmes aims to realise whole system transformational change and support London in achieving its goal to be the healthiest global city in the world.
Prevention programme
The Prevention Programme is one of the 13 HLP Programmes supporting the overarching goal for London to be the healthiest global city, where Londoners are empowered to maintain their own health and are supported to be as healthy as they can be.
In 2015/16 the Prevention programme focuses on helping Londoners kick unhealthy habits (tackling smoking and alcohol), getting London fitter with better food, more exercise and healthier living (tackling obesity and childhood obesity) and on ensuring that the NHS is a good role model for workplace health.
The programme team works with other teams within HLP, Public Health England, the GLA, AHSNs and local commissioning and transformation teams to deliver the project outputs.
Core programme: ‘Healthy Steps Together’
The ‘Healthy Steps Together’ programme will look at specific community settings in order to identify how the wider community environment and interplay of relationships in these settings can influence healthier decision-making. The project seeks to build on existing local initiatives and good practice to enhance their impact, further influence the uptake of healthy behaviours and embed health and wellbeing into health and care settings.
The project requires Design expertise to establish a cross-disciplinary team to undertake a human- centred design approach to understand and develop user-centred solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of communities across the specific settings; housing, primary care and schools.
