Expression of Interest for Phase 1 Supply & Installation of FF&E, Graphics, Window Coverings and Associated Builders Work for the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre in Dudley, West Midlands

The Black Country Innovative Manufacturing Organisation (BCIMO) is a not-for-profit Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) established to oversee the build, launch and operation of the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre (VLRNIC), a unique, purpose-built, R&D facility based in Dudley in the West Midlands. The centre, which is located on the site of the former British Rail station at Dudley, is being used to help shape and accelerate the development of lower-cost and more environmentally friendly solutions across the whole of the rail industry.

Construction of the centre was completed in September 2022, thanks to funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership in partnership with the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, the West Midlands Combined Authority, the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Coventry City Council.

Further funding has now been received to enable continued fitout of the centre. This notice invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Phase 1 Supply & Installation of FF&E, Graphics, Window Coverings and Associated Builders Work contract. The contract is to be completed by the 31st May 2023 and has a total contract value of £117,445 + VAT. (A further notice for the Phase 2 fitout will follow later this year - total contract value £62,500 + VAT).

• Your EOI must be received by 17:00 on Wednesday 1st March 2023 to be considered.

EOIs will be assessed against the qualifying criteria and suitable applicants will be invited to progress to the full tender process. You will find out if you have been successful on Monday 6th March.

Additional information: Essential Qualifying Criteria:

1. Be VAT Registered
2. Have a Companies House Registration with registered offices in the United Kingdom
3. Be a limited company
4. Have no less than £10M Public, Employee and PI Insurance
5. Have the capacity and suitable qualifications to project manage, supply and fit / install
6. Have a Carbon Reduction Plan detailing your commitment to achieving net-zero by 2050
7. Have capacity and be able complete all works by the completion date (31/05/23), inclusive of delivery, supply and fitting of all elements outlined herewith.
